NO FLY ZONE in LIBYA - GRIM Official Statement

GRI-M, STRONGLY DENOUNCE the LOSS of Civillian Lives in Libya caused by the indiscriminate bombardment by American, British, French and its allies' forces.

Such EXCESSIVE use of force is clearly incompatible with the mandate conferred by the United Nations Security Council on the enforcement of the "NO FLY ZONE".

Additionally, similar measures imposed in Iraq & Bosnia previously failed to prevent the Genocide and Other forms of crimes against humanity by the Aggressors.

Finally, GRI-M, EXCO Members and its Supporters are appalled by the apparent double standards practised by Western Powers who would readily invoke military actions in order to seize control of resource-rich nations but would do little to assist the legitimately elected governments in Algeria, Sudan, Palestine and Myanmar in overcoming their internal and external political obstacles.

Measures are NOT ONLY deemed Repressive & Dreadfully out of step with the Basic Standards of Humanity but will set a Dangerous Precedent that could influence the future course of other Government's in dealing with LEGITIMATE Pleas by its People for the Creation of a JUST & Egalitarian Society.

Brutal Suppression in LIBYA - GRIM's Official Statement

GRI-M, STRONGLY CONDEMNS the Brutal & Violent Employment of Force by the Gaddafi Regime against Members of the Reformative Movement in Libya in its desperate bid to retain power.

Such Measures are NOT ONLY deemed Repressive & Dreadfully out of step with the Basic Standards of Humanity but will set a Dangerous Precedent that could influence the future course of other Government's in dealing with LEGITIMATE Pleas by its People for the Creation of a JUST & Egalitarian Society.

25 July Orange Run: 1st GRI-M Fund Raising Exercise

The first GRI-M fund raising exercise was completed on the morning of 25 July 2010 by GRI-M's Co-ordinator Founder. Upon completion of the Orange Run by Amirul HM, all pledges were converted to donations. Almost RM500 were collected.

Mavi Marmara Slayings by Israeli Regime- GRIM Official Statement

GRIM OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

The Genocide Remembrance Initiative - Malaysia (GRIM) vehemently condemns the BRUTAL, BARBARIC and CRIMINAL acts of the Israeli Regime and the Israeli Armed Forces that cost the lives of innocent volunteers on board the Mavi Marmara ship.

In addition, GRIM strongly urge the Malaysian Government in collaboration with the International Community to take immediate steps to secure the release of those volunteers detained by the Israeli Regime.

Finally, we implore the right thinking members of the International Community to sever their political and diplomatic ties with Israel in protest of this incident.

The idea for creating this initiative came about after visiting 2 Genocide Museum/Exhibitions:-

• 2009 - Phnom Penh, Cambodia
  
• 2001 - Washington D.C., USA (Holocaust Museum)

.......and being involved in a Sponsorship Programme Initiative run by a NGO called MSRI, short for the Malaysian Social Research Institute.

In the aftermath of the 2008 Malaysian General Elections, Malaysians on both sides of the political divide should learn to appreciate the peace and stability that have been reaped by the nation as a whole and NOT let political, race or cultural bickering degenirate into CHAOS!
